school of bass fishing club

The School of Bass Fishing Club was started in early 2009 as a companion to the popular School of Bass educational organization. The club was formed with the goal of providing fun in the form of competitive fishing and social events that appeal to novice as well as the more experienced area fishermen.

Club Tournaments

Unlike the usual Northern California bass fishing tournament circuits that cost hundreds of dollars to enter, the School of Bass Fishing Club provides less formal--and much less expensive--fishing "turkey shoots" that give anglers a chance to put their fishing skills to the test.

sob plaques-smallOur turkey shoots are held on our home lake Folsom Lake as well as the Delta and other lakes selected by our members. These turkey shoots only involve a nominal angler entry fee ($10 for members, $20 for non-members). Fees are used to cover "bragging rights" 1st place, 2nd place, and Big Fish plaques that are awarded at the next fishing club meeting. Following weigh-in at each turkey shoot, we also have a great fishing tackle drawing sponsored by West Marine in Rocklin.

Membership Benefits

In addition to getting to know and fish with a great bunch of guys (and gals!), your membership will get you discounts to our fishing events and access to special areas of our website including:

  • Our Insider Fishing Reports section, where you will get a rare view of current action and tips on our area lakes and the Delta. You will often see much more detail than what you typically see on other websites.
  • Our online Insider Fishing Maps that provide you with key areas and hotspots on our area waters.
  • Our Fishing Club Forum where club members can interact and share info and ideas.
  • The Tackle Deals members-only page, where you can see a listing of current money-saving deals that have been uncovered by club members.
  • Special Deals will be periodically published only for members that will save you money on special club purchases of the latest cool baits and fishing equipment.

Monthly Meetings

pizza and beerThe School of Bass Fishing Club has monthly meetings at Round Table Pizza in Citrus Heights (7867 Lichen Drive, Lichen & Antelope, Google Maps).
